Facebook is Completely Crashed

Well, since Facebook is down I guess I can take a break from using it to talk about it

Clock Issues

Timing seems to be at the root of most Facebook catastrophes since Christmas Eve last year. Eggnog probably had a bit to do with that as well. Facebook is run on a whole bunch of servers and occasionally the clocks on the machines seem to get out of sync. Stuff from the past shows up as current and things you just did disappear depending on the view you use.

I would imagine it’s a real pain in the ass trying to keep that many computers in sync. I can’t say I would do a better job than they are.
