Sorry for the brief absence from blogging. I was very busy these past two weeks. Womens Future Benefit has had a lot going on and that kept me away from writing.
Last week I was the guest speaker at the South Jersey Fair Trade Alliance, here in New Jersey. I had been asked to make this appearance for a while, and I finally agreed. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our Project with new people.
Actually, I got to run our idea of making a Fair Trade store here in Atlantic City by them. It was an interesting evening, but it kept me busy getting ready and preparing for my “speech”.
Another BIG thing that happened for Womens Future Benefit, is that we have been given the GuideStar Partners Exchange Seal. It shows that we are “Partners in Trust” with GuideStar vouching for us being honest and transparent as a nonprofit.
We have filed on their site, for public inspection, our Annual Report and our Financial Report. So, if any of you wonder if we are the real deal, please check us out.
Another thing that is news, is that Womens Future Benefit is on Google Buzz. This is a great tool for us to use in our nonprofit business. We are able to follow Fair Trade news, blog about it, and post it.
I am also using Google for finding fresh Fair Trade news. So, you can look forward to more interesting topics to come. I always have this blog in mind when I get into these new things. How can I make this more interesting for you as the reader.
Another Fair Trade thing is Facebook. I have made many connections on Facebook with Fair Traders. If you are interested in getting to know us on a more personal basis, please consider joining Facebook, if you don’t already. I have provided you with a direct link to my profile. From there, you can join Womens Future Benefit’s Cause or Fan Page. When you search Groups, we are there too. You can also search “fair trade” and find a lot of us just hanging around and taking the trade.
You will find that the social networks are having more Fair Traders joining and creating groups. If you have local social sites, try looking for them. They could always use members and you could get involved directly into your area.
I just wanted to jot this out for you all to know that I am still alive! I have not forgotten about my faithful readers, who keep hoping for something new and fresh. Sorry for the little delay. Life happens.
